Program
Overview

MEGA’s Pre-Team programs are designed for young athletes who show strong potential, focus, and a love for gymnastics. Entry into these programs is by invitation, ensuring each gymnast receives training that matches their readiness, ability, and long-term development.

What is Pre-Team?

Pre-Team bridges the gap between recreational classes and competitive gymnastics. Athletes learn the foundations needed for future success—strength, flexibility, shapes, body tension, form, and discipline—while keeping the experience fun, positive, and developmentally appropriate.

It’s where talented young gymnasts begin learning how to

Boys Team Pathway

Boys Pre-Team

Boys in Pre-Team focus on building strength, mastering basics on all six men’s events, and developing the work ethic needed for competitive gymnastics. Training emphasizes clean technique, confidence, and steady progression.

Next Step: Boys Team

When athletes demonstrate readiness—strong basics, consistent focus, and a desire to work hard—they may be invited to join the Boys Team, where they begin formal competitive training and travel to meets throughout the season.

This pathway is intentionally structured and supportive, helping young athletes grow into disciplined, confident competitors.

Girls Rising Stars &
Pre-Team Pathways

Rising Stars

For girls who are excelling and ready for the next level of commitment, Rising Stars is an advanced pre-competitive program. Athletes refine technique, increase strength, and begin learning skills used in early competition levels.

Girls Pre-Team

Girls Pre-Team introduces athletes to structured skill progressions on all four events, along with strength training, flexibility, and foundational technique. Coaches focus on form, shapes, and consistency—cornerstones of successful competitive gymnastics.

Next Step: Girls Team

From Pre-Team, gymnasts may be invited to join the Girls Team, representing MEGA in competitions across the state and region.
