Michael Weiner: From MEGA to William & Mary Gymnastics

Michael Weiner’s gymnastics story is one of talent, discipline, and academic excellence — a journey that took him from elite club gymnastics in Massachusetts to NCAA competition with the Tribe at William & Mary.

A Strong Foundation at MEGA

Michael grew up training with Massachusetts Elite Gymnastics Academy (MEGA) in Millis, where he developed the all-around skills that would set him apart as a competitor. As a Level 10 gymnast, he competed nationally and earned solid results at major USA Gymnastics events, including the Men’s Development Program National Championships and the Elite Team Cup, where he showcased his abilities across multiple apparatus.

Joining the Tribe

Following his high school graduation in 2024, Michael took the next step in both his academic and athletic career by enrolling at William & Mary — a school known for its strong tradition of balancing scholastic achievement with athletic competition. According to his roster information, he joined the William & Mary Men’s Gymnastics team as a freshman for the 2024-25 season.

Now a sophomore on the Tribe roster (2025-26), Michael continues to represent the program in all-around competition.

Excellence in the Classroom and Beyond

Michael’s commitment extends well beyond the gymnastics floor. During the 2025 season, he was among 10 William & Mary gymnasts awarded USA Gymnastics Foundation scholarships, affirming his dedication to both sport and study.

In addition, he was recognized for outstanding academic achievement as a CGA Academic All-American, joining fellow Tribe teammates in earning College Gymnastics Association honors for excellence in the classroom.

Balancing Athletics with Studies

At William & Mary, Michael is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science, blending his athletic experience with a strong academic focus on human movement, performance, and wellness.

Looking Ahead

As he continues his gymnastics career with the Tribe, Michael exemplifies the values that MEGA instills in all its athletes: dedication, resilience, academic ambition, and a passion for growth. Whether he’s competing in the all-around, leading by example in training, or striving for excellence in the classroom, his journey at William & Mary reflects both his athletic roots and his commitment to building a well-rounded future.
